KURT MEISTER - VICE PRESIDENT, DIVISION MANAGER

Kurt brings 25 plus years of insurance experience to his team and company. As the head of sales for NSU’s Hospitality Division, Kurt manages a national sales and customer loyalty force focusing on reducing, managing and insuring the risks of some of the country’s largest hotel, resort and casino companies in the United States.

Growing up in Hartland, Michigan, (after a few years in Minnesota), Kurt graduated with a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan in 1984. There he met his wife Deborah and continues to be a rabid Wolverine fan (Go Blue!).

Kurt started his career with Aon Corporation in Chicago at their corporate headquarters. Relocating to Philadelphia, Kurt worked with the programs unit of Aon (Affinity Insurance Services) where he managed various insurance programs including professional liability, commercial and personal coverages for members of national associations. He attended graduate business school at Villanova University.

Aon relocated Kurt to the Pacific Northwest (with three classes left to go on his MBA), needing him in their newly acquired Bellevue, WA office.

Joining NSU in 2006, Kurt became the sales leader in the unique hospitality niche. In 2008, he assumed the role of sales management and enjoys taking part in the operating committee of this independent and dynamic organization serving the needs of large national and regional insurance brokers in the hospitality niche.

Known for enthusiasm for his sales team and his clients, Kurt’s focus is to help his clients understand their needs and help them achieve their goals. This consultative approach and desire to be a trusted advisor has spread within his team and has rewarded the company with very loyal customers.

On the personal side, Kurt has been married to his wife Deborah for over 20 years.  They have three boys and love living in the Pacific Northwest.  Kurt enjoys coaching youth sports and serves on the local little league board.  Recreationally, he enjoys photography, golfing, hiking and trying new things, like snowboarding.
